What Happened
Tom Alexandrovich — Released Predator
Tom Alexandrovich, an Israeli cyber official, was arrested in an FBI sting operation at Black Hat/DefCon in Las Vegas for soliciting a minor. While other arrestees caught in the same sting were held and prosecuted, Alexandrovich was released and allowed to return to Israel.
The State Department denied any intervention in the case, but the differential treatment speaks for itself — same crime, same sting, different outcomes based on nationality and political connections. The story received minimal sustained coverage despite the FBI confirming the arrest details.
Outcome: 🔴 Released, returned to Israel. No prosecution. Other arrestees in same sting were not released.
