What Happened
Israeli cyber official Tom Alexandrovich was arrested in an FBI sting at Black Hat/DefCon in Las Vegas for soliciting what he believed was a minor. He was released and allowed to return to Israel while other arrestees in the same sting operation were not afforded the same treatment.
The State Department denied any involvement in his release. The disparity in treatment between Alexandrovich and other suspects arrested in the same operation raises serious questions about whether foreign officials receive preferential treatment in the US justice system.
